「大分の彫刻家、台湾国際彫刻賞で最終候補に」
大分市在住の彫刻家 Savako（安藤佐和子）が、台湾・台中市のChina Medical University（中国医薬大学）およびAsia University Systemが主催する「2026 International Sculpture Award」のショートリストに選出された。
本賞は、同大学の水湳（Shuinan）キャンパス屋外公共空間への恒久設置を前提とする大型彫刻を対象とした国際公募で、最終審査に進む12作品はすべて大学による永久収蔵が予定されている。

水湳キャンパスでは、建築家Frank Gehryが設計を手がけたCMU Museum of Fine Arts（CMU MoFA）の建設が進められており、2028年の開館が予定されている。同館はゲーリー氏の晩年の設計プロジェクトの一つとされ、建築界からも注目を集めている。キャンパス内には、Niki de Saint Phalleらの作品も設置され、医療・教育環境におけるパブリックアートの展開が進められている。

Savakoは有機的な半具象形態を特徴とする彫刻作品を国内外で発表してきた。今回の選出は、アジアの医療・教育複合キャンパスという公共空間における恒久設置を前提とした国際的評価として注目される。

最終審査および授賞式は2026年6月、台中で開催される予定。

Savako (Sawako Ando) will participate in the international exhibition Art Is #2 at CICA Museum, Korea (February 11 – March 1, 2026).
Art Is #2 brings together artists from around the world, presenting a wide range of contemporary practices including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art.

In this exhibition, Savako presents works that begin with drawing and evolve into organic forms, exploring sensation and presence. Through a process that draws images emerging from the unconscious, her practice seeks connections to a shared sensibility that transcends time and culture.

Savako（Sawako Ando）は、韓国・CICA Museum にて開催される国際展覧会 「Art Is #2」 に出展します（2026年2月11日–3月1日）。
本展は、世界各国から選出されたアーティストによる多様な表現を紹介する国際展覧会です。

Savakoは本展において、ドローイングを起点とし、有機的なフォルムによって 感覚や存在を探る作品を展示します。無意識から立ち上がるイメージをすくい上げる制作プロセスを通して、 時代や文化を超えて共有されうる感受性とのつながりを探求しています。

From December 2 to February 14, a video work featuring Portico is projected at night onto a large-scale screen at Oita Station North Exit, using a high-powered projector.
Appearing after dark, the moving image transforms the public space through light, scale, and motion.

12月2日から2月14日までの夜間、大分駅北口にて、 ポルチコの映像作品がプロジェクターによる巨大スクリーンに投影されています。

Transforming Traditions: Art and Folklore in 2025 is a group exhibition currently on view at Yavapai College Prescott Art Gallery in Prescott, Arizona, USA (October 3 – November 7, 2025).
The exhibition explores how artists reinterpret traditional stories, symbols, and cultural heritage through contemporary perspectives, connecting myth and memory to the present moment. I’m honored that my sculpture Three Spirits Oracle is being introduced digitally on the central screen of the gallery. 《Transforming Traditions: Art and Folklore in 2025》 は、アーティストたちが伝統的な物語や象徴、文化的遺産を現代的な視点から再解釈する展覧会です。
アメリカ・アリゾナ州プレスコットの ヤバパイ・カレッジ・プレスコット・アートギャラリー にて開催され、
彫刻、絵画、インスタレーション、デジタルメディアなど多様な作品を通じて、神話や記憶を「いま」と結びつける試みが紹介されています。
私の作品《Three Spirits Oracle》は、ギャラリー中央のスクリーンでデジタル展示として紹介されています。
